Philadelphia glass artist Bernard Katz works from Sharp Street, Manayunk at his workshop and gallery. Katz used to create much more literal pieces than he does now, pieces that are obvious in meaning. Today, however, the artist produces pieces in need of a bit more analysis.

A long line consisting of the young and old weaved its way down the alley that Theatre of the Living Arts usuals know well on the afternoon of April 5. Tween girls decked themselves out in t-shirts that boldly read, “I kissed a girl,” leaving no passerby unaware of who was headlining at the TLA that night – Katy Perry. Last week while I was looking at public art, I couldn’t shake the thought of how interesting it would be to create an environment for artists to sit, walk, relax or just stare at the wall, until they are completely inspired by the habitat around you. As I walked to 15th and JFK Blvd I felt as if I had fallen down the rabbit hole. Created by Roger White, Daniel Martinex and Renee Petropoulous, the fiberglass and steel game pieces of Your Move represent a childs game in the middle of an adult business world filled with responsibility.
